Day 2 | Santiago/Pucón | Walking tour
Morning walking tour of Santiago. Afternoon fly south to the Lake District. Relax in your river side cabins. (d)
Day 3 | Pucón | Ride horses into the Andes
Enjoy a relaxed horse ride through a beautiful area of forests, mountains, volcanoes and lakes. (b,l)
Day 4 | Pucón | Walk to the top of a volcano
Walk to the summit of Villarica volcano.
From the top you have views right across the Andes into Argentina. (b,l)
Day 5 | Pucón | Raft the Trancura river
The river is a great fun combination of grade III and IV rapids.
After a few fun hours in the water lunch is a traditional asado (spit roast lamb) on a ranch. (b,l)
Day 6 | Alerce | Relax in a remote lodge
Travel south though the lake district to the ancient Alerce forest to see 4,000 year old trees - spend 2 nights in an exclusive lodge in the forest.

Day 7 | Alerce | Walk in ancient forest
Enjoy the silence, walk through the forest or relax in the outdoor hot pool. (b,l,d)
Day 8 | Puerto Natales | Fly to Patagonia
Fly over the ice fields to Patagonia.

Day 9 | Torres del Paine | River boat into Park
Enter the National Park by river and see the Torres del Paine for the first time.
Sleep in comfort on the edge of the iceberg filled Lago Grey. (b,l,d)
Day 10 | Torres del Paine | Ride horses across wild grasslands
Morning horse ride for views across lakes to the mountains. Afternoon stroll along the lakeshore. (b,l,d)
Day 11 | Torres del Paine | Walk on a glacier
Morning boat ride to the face of Glacier Grey. Afternoon walk on top of the glacier. Spend the next 2 nights in refugios: these are basically serviced mountain huts. (b,l,d)
Day 12 | Torres del Paine | Walk past peaks
Relaxed day walking through the park. Porters carry your bags. (b,l,d)
Day 13 | Torres del Paine | Explore the park
Spend today outside crossing the park. Take a boat across Lake Pehoe to a waterfall, continue to your comfortable lodge. (b,l,d)
Day 14 | Torres del Paine | Hike to the Torres
Walk to the granite towers (torres) which give the park its name, return to your lodge to celebrate. (b,l,d)
Day 15 | Punta Arenas | Relax
Travel south to the town of Punta Arenas, the world’s most southerly city. (b)
Day 16 | Ushuaia | Travel into Argentina
Short flight onto the island of Tierra del Fuego and the Argentine town of Ushuaia.

Day17 | Ushuaia | Day to explore and relax
Full day to wander the town or take a tour to the inland of the island. (b)
Day18 | Ushuaia | Day to explore
Full day free to explore. The waterside restaurants have spectacular views. (b)
Day19 | Ushuaia | Day to explore
Full day free. Explore Tierra del Fuego National Park, you can take the chair lift part way into the peaks and hike a little further up for panoramic views. (b)
Day 20 | Ushuaia | Board your boat
Board your boat, the MV/Antarctic Dream. Cabins are very comfortable and spacious, all have external portholes. Set sail to Antarctica this evening. (b,d)
Day 21 | Open seas | Sail Drake’s Passage
Cross the 400 miles of Drake’s Passage over the next two days.
Seabirds fly alongside the ship, look out for whales, dolphins and penguins. (b,l,d)
Day 22 | Open seas | Sail Drake’s Passage
There is a programme of talks on board. Relax in the gym, sauna, library or pub. Food on board is a highlight.

Day 23 | Neko Bay | South Shetland Islands shore landing
Go ashore to King George Island today. See wildlife with your expert naturalist guides, elephant seals and penguins. Take a helicopter flight if the weather is good enough. (b,l,d)
Day 24 | Antarctica | Set foot on Antarctica
Set foot on the mainland of Antarctica for the first time.
Encounter rich bird life and marine mammals, leopard seals as well as Orcas, humpback and minke whales.

Day 25 | Antarctica | Explore ice formations
Sail south through a narrow passage, icebergs fill the waters. The most southerly landing of your expedition is today. Look for gentoo and chinstrap penguins and elephant seals. (b,l,d)
Day 26 | Antarctica | Visit penguin colonies
This morning to explore the faces of huge glaciers.
Afternoon shore landings and wildlife spotting. (b,l,d)
Day 27 | Antarctica | Explore ice formations
Sail to the largest active volcano in the area.
Visit the ruins of an old whaling station. Swim in waters warmed by the volcanic sand. (b,l,d)
Day 28 | Drake’s Passage | Relax
Return journey. Relax and talk over your experiences. (b,l,d)
Day 29 | Drake’s Passage | Relax
Drake’s passage is entirely open water with no land anywhere around the world at these latitudes. (b,l,d)
Day 30 | Buenos Aires | Flight
Disembark this morning for your flight home via Buenos Aires.
