"Pura Aventura is unique - it's couture holidaymaking with a conscience. We've experienced four completely different Pura guided holidays as a family and we've loved every one. Pura thinks of every detail leaving you to enjoy a much needed family holiday away from the crowds."
Alexa F  |  Pyrenees Family Adventure  | 2009
"We just want to thank you for a really fantastic holiday in the Picos with Pura and two really great guys Alex and Jesus. They really made the holiday for us and looked after us so well, taking us to local places we would never have found and spending so much time with us. We just loved the Picos, gorgeous villages, sea, mountains, people, food and great local community spirit. We will definitely be back, so keep organising those fantastic holidays in such a very special place. Best and nicest place I have been to and I have travelled the world. Don't tell too many people, and keep it small so the masses of tourists don't ruin such a lovely place."
Nina M  |  Picos Family Adventure  | 2008
"Fantastic week – our first experience of a family skiing holiday was brilliant. Jaime and Ana could not have been better instructors: kind, patient and very encouraging. Alex and Jaime were always available with a cheery smile to offer help and advice both on and off the piste. Thanks a million."
Rebecca K  |  Family Ski Week  | 2008
"Having just returned from the Picos, I wanted to let you know that we had a great time and that all your arrangements were excellent. Both the hotels were charming and in Alex, we couldn't have had a better guide and companion to show us around and to provide plenty of insights on so many different things. We did walks and saw places off the beaten track that we certainly wouldn't have got to on our own. Thank you for making this possible - it has certainly whetted our appetite for more!"
Alastair C  |  Picos Walk  | 2009
"The whole experience was absolutely bl**dy fantastic."
Zave J  |  Picos Adventure Weekend  | 2009
"We had a lovely time in Mallorca. The hotel and its setting was excelent. Tolo and his staff were most kind and helpful. We frequently had our evening meal in Tolo's mother's restaurant as it was convenient, in the heart of the town, the food was good. Also Tolo's mother made us most welcome. We went for a very enjoyable day's walking with Miguel, he is a very good guide and took us on a walk that is not included in your list but to be fair without Miguel we would never have found it. "
Peter A  |  Mallorca Self Drive  | 2009
"Pura are an excellent company with the needs of the client as the number one priority. The staff are excellent from start to finish and the standards of the information packs are the best I have ever experienced. Nothing is ever too much trouble. This was a wonderful holiday that went smoothly from start to finish. Alex was an excellent guide, he took us to some of the most beautiful areas I have ever visited it certainly opened my eyes to a part of Spain everyone should experience. The picnic lunches have to be seen to be believed, he always chose locally produced food and I didnt think one rucksack could provide so much food! In the evenings he took us to restaurants you wouldnt necessarily find if you were by yourself and he was on hand to advise on good dishes (and wines). The accomodation was 1st class and ran by wonderful people who knew how to provide comfort and maintain that family run feel. We have now been on two pura holidays and are looking forward to our third and continue to recommend the company to our friends. "
Jean P  |  Picos Walk  | 2008
"I think that Pura Aventura is a friendly and professional company that offers what it claims to offer.....true adventure combined with comfort, a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and convenience. It is wonderful to find a holiday company that gives you value for money and really cares about its customers."
Jane D  |  Rioja Walk  | 2008
"Fantastic from start to end. Xabi was a superb guide and host. The accommodation and hospitality was excellent. Good attention to detail, quality and personal requests was provided by Pura Aventua (PA) from bookiing the trip and for the duration. I intend to use the company again and will have no hesitation recommending PA to my family and friends."
Michael R  |  Rioja Vineyard Weekend  | 2008
"Hi, safely home after a great walk. We found the accommodation was good to excellent. We never lost our way and appreciated the care that had been given to sorting out a suitable route. Everything went very smoothly and we will strongly recommend Pura Aventura to our friends as well as plan to return for another walk. Once again many thanks for a great walking holiday. "
David C  |  Picos Inn to Inn  | 2008
"Holiday was good, great guides, canoeing and canyoning, Cares Gorge was brilliant. Hotel accommodation and food were great. "
Pauline R  |  Picos Family Self Drive  | 2008
"Our holiday was everything we had hoped it would be. Your two guides were briliant - they took us to some spectacular, unspoilt places which I shall remember for ever. They were very considerate of the less able in the group and were more than happy to alter the day's event to satisfy everyone's wishes. The accommodation was of a very high standard and nothing seemed to be too much trouble for anyone. In conclusion, this was a fantastic holiday and hope we can find something next year to equal it. "
Margaret E  |  Picos Family Adventure  | 2008
"It's a well run organisation with good array of activity holidays and competent fun guides. The activities were great, particularly the rafting. "
Robin M  |  Pyrenees Family Adventure  | 2008
"We had a really good time. The hotel was excellent and Stephie a delight. We ate several times at Es Canyar in Alcudia, as recommended by Stephie, where the Mallorcan food was exceptionally good. Please pass on our thanks and best wishes to Stephie and Miguel when you are next in touch. Many thanks once again."
Laurie C  |  Mallorca Self Drive  | 2008
"I just wanted to thank you and ask you to pass on our thanks to our guide, Alex. We had an amazing weekend even with the bad weather! The Cares gorge was incredible. We have vowed to visit Asturias again, if only for the great cheese and cider ! Thanks again"
David H  |  Picos Adventure Weekend  | 2008
"We had a really good time walking the Picos Inn to Inn. The organisation worked well, the weather was good (unlike the rest of Spain apparently), the walks were interesting, and the flora fantastic. The people were really friendly and helpful. The best day we had was up to Horcados Rojos, which was spectacular."
Rupert C  |  Picos Inn to Inn  | 2008
"A challenge and a wonderful experience. We liked the peace and tranquility. You've done what you said - we were independent yet supported. "
Peter G  |  Picos Inn to Inn  | 2008
"Many thanks for a great holiday. Jaime looked after us really well and the small group size was ideal for us beginners."
Sue H  |  Family Ski Week  | 2007
"If you want to see authentic rural Andalucia ... this is the trip for you."
Mike N  |  Andalucia Inn to Inn  | 2007
"We experienced places that we would not have found on our own which meant we gained a real feel of Rioja. We enjoyed the holiday because of the experiences, the excellent leadership and the company that we were with."

All of the holidays shown on this page are handmade by Pura Aventura, they are available nowhere else.

All of our holidays are created on the basis of sustainable and responsible tourism.

Pura Aventura is an Anglo-Spanish company so our ties to Spain are very strong indeed.

We have designed and deliver this range of holidays using our own people and carefully selected local suppliers to create Pura Handmade holidays.

You are looked after by a Pura team on the ground.

The selection of hotels, walks, restaurants, beaches, markets, guides, activities etc is a constant process for us. We are always looking for new ways to show you the lesser known parts of Spain.

The hotels we use are often hidden away in tiny villages and are usually exclusive to Pura Aventura.

Pura Aventura is passionate about the places it visits. To help preserve the integrity of these destinations we:

• Keep groups small to minimise environmental impact.

• Work directly with local businesses and organisations to directly benefit local economies. We use small, locally owned hotels and restaurants.

• Work with local guides so that our holidays are more interesting for clients and more beneficial locally.

Pura Aventura actively supports the Spanish mountain conservation charity www.quebrantahuesos.org
