Here are some of our favourite restaurants in and around the Monteverde cloudforest. We are always open to other suggestions, feedback and recommendations though!

Monteverde Lodge, 2645-5057. The lodge’s restaurant serves good food and has a lovely open fireplace, perfect on chilly evenings.

Tree House Restaurante, Bar & Café, 2645-5751. Set between the boughs of a huge tree, it’s worth popping in for a snack just for a look at the place’s incredible setting.

Restaurante Pizzeria de Johnny, 2645-5066, on the main road between the two reserves. Good pizzas cooked in a wood-fired oven served in a relaxing atmosphere.

De Lucia Restaurant, 2645-5337, on the road between the reserves, opposite the Hotel Heliconia. Fantastic Itlatian food.

Restaurant Moon Shiva, 2645-6270, again on the road between the reserves, opposite the Heliconia. Specializes in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine. Live flamingo on selected nights.

Morphos Restaurant, 2645-5607, opposite the side entrance to the supermarket in Santa Elena. Gets busy, good food, friendly staff. Characterized by huge murals of butterflies on the walls.
