Perhaps surprisingly, Santiago is home to some of the most stylish looking venues and bars you will see anywhere. Many would not look out of place in a Hollywood movie.

Nightlife summary

Despite being at times so stylish, venues are usually friendly, relaxed and pleasant so once you get over your insecurity that someone is about to come over and tell you that you have been allowed in by mistake, you can enjoy some wonderful people watching.

You can also have great fun into the small hours.
If you are making a night of it, eat dinner in Bellavista but head over to Suecia (Providencia) or Las Urracas (Las Condes) after supper for some startlingly stylish bars and nightclubs.

Suecia

A single street which is densely packed with some of the most stylish and fun nightclubs you are likely to find anywhere. Follow your nose.

For great Latin music and a fun atmosphere go to Entre Negros – a single room, fraying around the edges but everybody dances all night.

Las Condes

Well east of the centre but at the top of Avenida Vitacura you find Las Urracas, a modern development of bars and nightclubs for the rich and beautiful young things of Santiago – of which there are many.

Bellavista

Generally very seedy around the main street (Pio Nono) at night. Ta Ta Tango on Pio Nono and Dardignac is fun – it always seems to be empty but the staff are friendly and the music fun.

Just around the corner from the restaurants (Zen/Kilometre) on Calle Constitucion you will see a low, white building on the left.

There is a barely discernible sign ‘Etniko’. Knock on the door or buzz the doorbell and they may or may not let you in. Inside is a maze of rooms which are bars and restaurants and clubs.
