Favourite place for people? Brazil.

Favourite place for food and wine? Haha. Too many to list. I always enjoy the food and wine in Spain, probably too much. I love Ribera del Duero wines, and there are some great value treasures in Somontano wines too.

Favourite place for landscape? Pati Valley in the Chapada Diamantina in Brazil.

Most recent trip? Skiing in the Spanish Pyrenees. A perfect week in Cerler: good snow, good weather and great company.

Where to next? Chile please. Skiing, winelands, Atacama desert, Patagonia… any and all.

Top travel tip? Travelling light is much easier if you have the right kit. You’ll need less if you have good quality stuff.

Career path? Birmingham University, Rank Xerox, Coca-Cola, Deloitte, American Express, and Pura Aventura, the bluest of chips.

First holiday abroad? Dénia, Spain 1973.

Most visited place? Literally it’s probably somewhere worky like Frankfurt, Paris or New York. For pleasure it’s Spain, mostly the north and Madrid.

Where would you like to live? Probably near San Sebastián for the sea, access to mountains and the food and wine.

Most overrated place? Los Angeles. Well I don’t know if it’s very overrated, but I can’t stand the place. Oh, and Florida while we’re at it. To prove that this isn’t US-bashing, I love Chicago, Seattle, New York, DC, Boston, rural Massachusetts, etc. etc.
