Fly to the Galapagos. This afternoon visit La Galapaguera beach to walk and explore. This is one of the best places to see giant tortoises in the wild. You are also likely to see mockingbirds and lava lizards along the way.
Cerro Brujo is a beautiful white sand beach, one of the first places visited by Charles Darwin. Brown pelicans, blue-footed boobies, sea lions and marine iguanas are all found.
Start today with a landing on ‘sea lion beach’. All along the sand are sea lions basking in the sun. This afternoon walk to the rugged cliffs of Punta Suarez to see spectacular bird life.
Walk across Floreana Island to see flamingoes and sea turtles. Continue to the Devil’s Crown where you can snorkel. After lunch, visit Post Office bay and learn something about the human history of the islands.
This morning visit the wetlands near Puerto Villamil on Isabela, a hotspot for migratory birds including Osprey, Semi-palmated Plovers and Flamingos.
Walk up to the top of Bartolome island for beautiful views across the eastern Galapagos Islands. Snorkel around the base of the emblematic Pinnacle Rock. Paddle through the mangroves of Black Turtle Cove.
South Plaza is a small island off the east coast of Santa Cruz. Despite its size it is home to a great diversity of species and is famous for its extraordinary flora. Walk an easy trail to the cliff tops to watch the waves crashing below as birds fly in f
Visit the interpretation centre on San Cristobal this morning and learn more of the wildlife and human history of the Islands. Today is a changeover day so there may be clients leaving and joining the boat now. See Kicker Rock this afternoon.
Explore ‘Bird Island’ on foot with a walk to Prince Philip’s Steps. Visit the coral sands of Darwin Bay for the chance to snorkel with fur seals.
Land at Bachas Beach on Santa Cruz Island. This very pretty coral sand beach is a nesting site for green turtles between November and March, and interior lagoons are home to the Greater Flamingo.
Visit the shores of one of the world’s most active volcanic islands, Fernandina, to walk amongst the flightless cormorants, sea lions and marine iguanas.
Visit Tagus Cove to walk up to a volcanic caldera for great views of the northern part of Isabela. Explore the Mariela Islands and Elizabeth Bay on the pangas.
Walk along the coast of Santiago to see Galapagos fur seals basking in pools. Snorkel with sharks, turtles and sea lions off the beach. Explore the lava tunnels of Sombrero Chino island.
Visit the giant tortoise breeding and conservation project at the Charles Darwin Centre this morning. After lunch on shore, continue to the highlands to look for giant tortoises in the ‘wild’.
