Fly to Nicaragua. Meet your guide at the airport for the short transfer to your hotel in Managua’s centre.

Travel north with your guide to visit the remains of Leon Viejo. Continue to the lovely town of Leon where yo spend the next three nights.

Travel the short distance to the coast today to walk along the windswept and wild shore or swim. Enjoy a seafood lunch in the small village. Visit a wildlife sanctuary this afternoon.

Walk up the starkly beautiful Cerro Negro Volcano. At just 450 meters high, this is a small but very active volcano. It is one of the newest volcanoes in the Americas.

Travel south to the lovely colonial town of Granada. Stop off in Managua to enjoy some fun zip wire action over a crater lake.

Spend today relaxing and exploring Granada in the company of your guide and on your own, whichever suits you best.

Walk around the active crater of Masaya Volcano with its colony of parrots living inside. Visit the huge crater lake at Apoyo for a lunch with a view. End the day visiting the artisan workshops of Masaya.

Travel to Ometepe Island in Lake Nicaragua by car and ferry. Stop off to explore the cloudforest reserve on top of Mombacho Volcano.

Ometepe Island is formed by two volcanoes, one active, one dormant. Today you walk up to the crater of the dormant Maderas volcano.

Today’s walk is to San Ramon, a beautiful 56m waterfall on the southern slopes of Maderas. The walk up only takes about an hour but it is a steady and steep uphill.

After breakfast, head south to the beach town of San Juan del Sur. The bay is beautiful and the beach clean and lovely. Whilst here you stay in a small hotel near the beach.

Spend today relaxing and swimming.

Relax until after lunch. You are collected this afternoon for the drive back to Managua. Spend tonight in a comfortable hotel in the city centre where you can enjoy good food or fun nightlife.

Travel back home.
