Family ski holiday, Spain Pyrenees family ski holiday information

Learn more about what to expect on this family ski holiday including group size, when to go and how comfortable you can expect to be.
Further information

When should I go?
Any time between December and March/April.

As with any mountain environment, the weather can be unpredictable but skiing conditions in Cerler are generally good throughout the season from December through to early April.

32km of pistes are backed up by snow-blowers.

How active?
Entirely up to you. Skiing and snowboarding are the main activities. The range of pistes and the uncrowded slopes and lifts mean that you can do as much or little as you like.

You can also try cross-country skiing or snow-shoeing in the area as well as relax in a nearby spa.

How comfortable?
Comfortable, stylish hotel in the village.

Where possible we place parents in rooms next to their children. In any case, the hotel is quite small, so rooms are never very far apart.

How independent?
You have support and guidance on tap but it is entirely flexible so you can choose how much or how little you want to see your guide.

Ski lessons are included each day. We have a 2 hour session for children/beginners in the morning and then usually a 2 hour session in the afternoon for intermediates and better skiers.

Private transport and transfers from Zaragoza or Barcelona include.

Who is it for?
Families and mixed groups looking for great skiing in a relaxed, unpretentious and uncrowded resort.

The normal advice about young children is that they can begin to learn from about the age of 4.

Why the Spanish Pyrenees?
Relaxed, unpretentious slopes that are refreshingly uncrowded (particularly on weekdays) and have excellent teaching facilities.

Rural hotel with a strong sense of place. Excellent food and wine at sensible prices.

Whilst the resort is smaller than many you will find in the Alps, the atmosphere is very different (we think in a good way) and the quality of infrastructure and skiing is excellent.

How responsible?
Pura Aventura is passionate about the places it visits. To help preserve the integrity of these destinations we:

• Keep groups small to minimise environmental impact.

• Work directly with local businesses and organisations to directly benefit local economies. We try and use small, locally owned hotels and restaurants.

• Work with local guides so that our holidays are more interesting for clients and more beneficial locally.

Pura Aventura actively supports the mountain conservation charity www.quebrantahuesos.org

Pura Handmade Holiday

This family skiing holiday is a Pura Aventura Handmade holiday and is unique to us.

We designed and deliver the holiday using our own people and carefully selected local suppliers to create a Pura Handmade holiday.

What makes our ski holiday different?

Our guide, Jaime, lives and works in Cerler for much of the year, so knows the mountains and the area in great depth. He’s also an excellent skier, board rider and instructor for both.

Since it’s a small resort, things can change quickly so we review the hotels, restaurants and ski hire suppliers that we use constantly to make sure we’re using the best and most characterful.

Being local, Jaime knows everything that’s going on and is able to help you get the most from your time there. We have a range of activities up our sleeves just in case there is a day when the children can’t ski.

Cerler is relaxed and unpretentious with slopes that are refreshingly uncrowded (particularly on weekdays).

Whilst the resort is smaller than some you will find in the Alps, the atmosphere is very different and the quality of infrastructure and skiing is excellent.
