When should I go?
In terms of weather, the best time of year to visit the Lake District is between October and April.
However in the peak months (January and February) you will find that some of the areas near Puerto Varas are afflicted by large flies which make life pretty miserable.
We therefore suggest that you take this trip September through the first part of December then again from March through April. If you go in March/April you should also see the harvesting of the vines.
A carefully chosen combination of walking, wine and relaxation.
Walks are designed to be suitable for any reasonably fit person. There are opportunities for walks, rides and other activities all along the route.
Alternatively, you might like to simply take it easy and enjoy the stunning scenery.
First class small hotels with twin/double en suite rooms throughout. Some are fairly luxurious, others are more simple but very friendly.
All have been carefully chosen by us to best reflect the areas through which you are travelling.
Completely independent throughout but you travel with Pura’s detailed local information and you have backup in the country should you need it.
Pura Aventura is passionate about the places it visits.
To help preserve the integrity of these destinations we:
• Keep groups small to minimise environmental impact.
• Work directly with local businesses and organisations to directly benefit local economies. We use small, locally owned hotels and restaurants. We know the owners except in the large cities.
• Work with local guides so that our holidays are more interesting for clients and more beneficial locally.
• Make payment to suppliers before our clients arrive.

We deliver this holiday using our own people and carefully selected local suppliers to create a Pura Handmade holiday.
This is the first of our trips to really focus more on the people and culture (including viticulture) than on the scenery.
The landscapes you see are spectacular but this is a trip to really allow you under the skin of a wonderful country.
We have searched out the most charming small inns, the best hidden gems of restaurants and brought them together in this active, gastronomic and cultural holiday.
