Alternatives to Ryanair...

Having just had another Ryanair experience to and from the Pyrenees, we were interested to see two pieces of news yesterday.

First, “Pyrenair”!http://www.pyrenair.es/pyr_ti/index.php now fly weekly (on Sundays) to Huesca from London Gatwick.

To make up for the disappointment of not flying with everyone’s favourite airline, you do slice nearly an hour off the drive to and from the Pyrenees compared with Zaragoza. We hope to offer this as a transfer option for the 2009-10 ski season.

Secondly, The Times covered further “plans by Ryanair to discourage checked-in baggage”!http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/industry_sectors/transport/article5798804.ece. That’s all very well, but it does effectively signal their exit from the ski market. And the golf market for that matter, though that doesn’t concern us.
