Our thoughts are with the Chilean people in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake which struck on the 27th February.
Thank you to those of you who have asked after the wellbeing of our team in Chile. We are waiting to hear back from some of them but we understand the impact of the earthquake on the Atacama and in Patagonia to have been minimal.
The area impacted is around the southern edge of the Chilean vineyards (Maule Valley towards Bio Bio) which borders the northern part of the Chilean Lake District.
In touristic terms, the area of the earthquake was fairly ‘off the beaten track’and lovely for it.
One of the most common remarks we have from clients returning from Chile is just how kind and welcoming the people of Chile are.
I personally have experienced greater kindness and generosity in Chile than anywhere else in my life. We will be monitoring the situation carefully and hoping that the human cost of the earthquake does not rise any further.
