Riding Holiday Itinerary
Day 1 | San Martín | Arrive & Settle at Ranch
Arrive at Argentina’s San Martín de los Andes airport and transfer to the estancia for lunch and a familiarisation ride. Sleep in a cottage on the farm. (l,d).
Day 2 | San Martín | Explore the Estancia
Today you ride all day on the Estancia.
Stop for a traditional "asado" (lamb roast over an open fire) lunch.
Enjoy views of the Andes on the ride, you need to be a confident and practiced rider. (b,l,d)
Day 3 | Argentina | Ride the Andean Steppes
Set out from the Estancia towards Chile.
Cross the wide open spaces of Argentine Patagonia. Spend up to 8 hours in the saddle.
Camp tonight, eat around the campfire and wash in the stream. (b,l,d)
Day 4 | Argentina | Ride the Andean Steppes
Ride across rivers, through Indian reservations, over ridges and through magnificent gorges as you head towards the high mountains and the Chilean border. Camp tonight under the stars of the Southern hemisphere. (b,l,d)
Day 5 | Argentina | Ride the Andean Steppes
Continue through Argentine Patagonia towards the border. The weather becomes warmer and the landscape begins to change from grassland to forests and lakes.

Day 6 | Argentina | Ride the Andean Steppes
The towering snow-capped peak of Lanin Volcano serves as a beacon on the ride today.
Lanin is half in Chile and half in Argentina, where waters melt and run to the Pacific is considered Chile, where they run to the Atlantic is Argentina. (b,l,d)
Day 7 | Argentina/Chile | Cross the border
You reach the Argentine/Chilean border today. Here you are met by your Chilean hosts and change horses.
Set off at a relaxed pace down the western slopes of the Andes. (b,l,d)
Day 8 | Chile | Lakes and Beech Forests
Ride through larch and monkey-puzzle forests, with spectacular views of lakes and volcanoes. Daily distances are shorter for this part of the trip, spend around 5 hours a day in the saddle. (b,l,d)
Day 9 | Chile | Volcanoes and Hot Springs
Ride all day through forests, passing lakes in the shadow of the high Andes. Finally, ride down towards the Chilean town of Pucón.
Arrive at a very comfortable hot-springs hotel to celebrate your journey and soak in hot springs. (b,l,d)
Day 10 | San Martín | Relax & ride
Morning to relax and soak in the thermal pools. Drive back to Argentina and your last night on the estancia. (b,l,d)
Day 11 | San Martín/Travel | Return home
Morning ride before your afternoon flight to Buenos Aires and on home. (b)
Alternatively extend your trip to explore more of Chile, Antarctica, Peru, Brazil, Ecuador or the Galapagos Islands.
