Walking Holiday Itinerary

Day 1 | Amazon | Fly to the Amazon rainforest                        
Morning flight from Lima to the Amazon rainforest. Relax in your lodge. (l,d)

Day 2 | Amazon | Explore by boat and foot
Explore the lake by canoe with expert guides help you spot monkeys, birdlife. Night-time trip to search for the black caiman. (b,l,d)

Day 3 | Amazon | Wildlife
Explore the pristine rainforest on foot. Learn about the flora and fauna of the Amazon from your expert guide.  (b,l,d)

Day 4 | Cusco | Walking tour to acclimatise
Morning flight to Cusco, relax in your first class hotel. Acclimatise to the altitude (3,326m) with a gentle walking tour this afternoon. (b)

Day 5 | Cusco | Explore Cusco
Complete your acclimatisation. Explore Cusco with your guide today, walk to the fortress of Sacsayhuaman for panoramic views. (b)

Day 6 | Inca Trail | Walk in Sacred Valley
Start walking the Inca Trail. Porters carry all equipment and set up camp for you. Walk 5km, 2hrs, up 50m. (b,l,d)

Day 7 | Inca Trail | Walk, culture and flora
Walk at a relaxed pace still at relatively low altitude (3,000m). Learn about the Inca Empire from your expert guide. Walk 10km, 6.5hrs, up 850m. (b,l,d)

Day 8 | Inca Trail | High trail
A hard day’s walking to the highest point on the trail (4,215m). Walk 12km, 7.5hrs, up 650m, down 850m. (b,l,d)
 
Day 9 | Inca Trail | Arrive at Machu Picchu
The final day of the trail to Machu Picchu. Arrive in the quiet of the late afternoon. Sleep in a comfortable hotel tonight. (b,l)

Day 10 | Machu Picchu | Explore Machu Picchu
Refreshed, catch the first bus up in the morning for a guided tour of Machu Picchu. Return to Cusco by train after lunch. (b)

Day 11 | Puno | Cross the Altiplano to Lake Titicaca
Board the bus from Cusco to Puno. Full day to travel across the Altiplano. Arrive in Puno and sleep in your lakeshore hotel. (b,l)

Day 12 | Puno | Explore Lake Titicaca
Take a boat out onto the lake with your guide this morning. Stop by the floating reed islands and continue to the less visited side of Taquile island. Return to Puno tonight. (b,l) 

Day 13 | Lima | Culture and travel
Morning free to relax and explore. Fly to Lima this afternoon for 2 nights. (b)

Day 14 | Lima | Explore Lima with guide  
A relaxed full day to explore the capital of the conquistadors with your guide. (b)

Day 15 | Fly | Depart for home
