We also think that there’s usually no need to suffer for your exertions. In fact, what better way to earn a good meal and a good night’s sleep than by being outdoors all day?

We look for smaller hotels that are comfortable, have good personal service and local character and, preferably, are locally owned. If you’re looking for uniformed doormen, chandeliers and globally standardised rooms, then you’d probably be better off looking elsewhere.

We only offer holidays that we know are up to scratch. We specialise in Spain and Latin America because (a) that’s what we know and love best; and (b) that provides an incredible range of sights and experiences to offer our clients.

We take a comprehensive view of Responsibility which includes our commitment to use local guides and suppliers as far as possible, supporting local social and environmental projects, and keeping our groups small to lower our impact.

All of our holidays are either Handmade (which we research, design and operate ourselves) or Handpicked (which we have experienced and think are good enough to have our name on).
