Health and safety

The safety of our clients is a responsibility we take very seriously. Pura Aventura is a founder member of the Latin America Travel Association (LATA) H&S committee. It was set up to drive up standards of safety across Latin America. Since 2006, nearly 1,400 hotels have been audited, along with 500 transport providers and Galapagos boats. We have made sure that all of our hotels and transport partners on the ground are approved.

H&S as a journey

We are very proud of what has been achieved in the past years but there is always more to do. As the saying goes, H&S is a journey NOT a destination. We invest time and money in the scheme on an ongoing basis.

Pura Aventura also works directly with a specialist and highly experienced health & safety consultant who is rolling out the same type of system across Spain though EU regulations make for a much tighter regulatory environment than is the case in Latin America.

Emergency management

Emergency management is not something most people think about when booking a holiday but being trained and prepared for an emergency is an important part of our job. In the unlikely event that anything goes wrong on the ground you can be assured that we are all trained in emergency management and we are available 24/7 on our emergency telephone.

We are also a registered partner of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) in their ‘Know Before You Go’ campaign. This means that we monitor their travel advisories and act/advise you accordingly.

In addition, Pura Aventura is a member of the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) which promotes responsible, sustainable active travel worldwide.
