You just missed it! On Thursday 23rd June Pura Aventura hosted an evening dedicated to the wildlife, landscapes and people of Patagonia at the Royal Geographical Society.
With several hundred people in attendance - in spite of some pretty atrocious weather and transportation logistics - it was a great success.
We were especially honoured to be joined by representatives from both the Chilean and Argentine embassies, including the Chilean ambassador. The event was recorded in its entirety in order to share the event with those who could not be there.
We were delighted to be joined on the night by:
Bill has spent time filming for the BBC on a wilderness reserve in Argentinian Patagonia, and entertained us with his tales of parrots, penguins and whales. He also introduced the ongoing conservation work that he supports in this part of the world.
Tuppence shared her experiences during filming in Chile and Argentina for Patagonia: Earth's Secret Paradise, introducing the most memorable people, places and creatures she encountered along the way. Tuppence accompanied her talk with clips from the series.
British-born Hugh has spent the last five years living in Patagonia. He has travelled Chile's Southern Highway repeatedly, researching his guide book and developing a profound knowledge of the challenges faced by the people of Patagonia: he presented the region's human tales.
Held in the Ondaatje Theatre of the RGS, the talks were followed by the opportunity to ask questions of our speakers, who mingled with guests.
There was a draw on the night to win two places on our one-off group tour to Chilean Patagonia in 2017 led by Pura Aventura co-founder Thomas Power. Congratulations to the lucky winner!
